Torching Off Lug Nuts

Lug nuts need to be tight, but not too tight. When you’re putting them on it’s ideal to use a torque wrench to make sure that they’re just tight enough. If they’re on too tight or unevenly tightened, it can cause problems like warped rotors, and can be hard to take off to change a spare tire on the side of the road.

Short Tire Life

Typical tires are designed to last a long time. Typical passenger car all-season tires can usually go for 40,000-60,000 miles if properly maintained. High performance tires are higher grip, which means they wear out much quicker, in possibly 20,000 miles or even less if driven hard.

Aftermarket Making Hard Jobs Harder

Recently I had to replace the heater box on a Honda Fit. To do this I had to remove the dashboard, which is a long, tedious job, even though I’ve done it a couple times already. This one took a little longer because the car had several aftermarket accessories wired in.
