Sometimes body panels of cars need to be replaced, either because of damage from an accident, or because they’re just getting too rusty. If it was an accident and insurance is paying for the repairs, usually the replacement is painted to match the car, or a used one is found of the same color. When parts are being replaced for other reasons, unless you’re really lucky, it’s often hard to find used ones of the right colors.
An older Civic was towed in to the dealership because the ignition wouldn’t work and they wanted a new key cut. I was handed two keys for the car, one was an aftermarket key, and the other was a Honda key, but it looked like someone had cut into for some reason, possibly to try to access the immobilizer chip inside. Why someone would do that, I don’t know. I assumed that the damage to the key was why they needed a new key, until I got out to the car with the new key.
Most people leave their cars looking the way they came from the factory, but some people like to personalize them. A lot of the time, their modifications are to make the car perform better, or just look like it performs better.

The repair order said that the right turn signal was out, replace the bulb. Usually when bulbs are out it’s just a bad bulb, but after throwing one in, it still wasn’t working. Obviously this meant it had to be a problem with the wiring.
Sometimes brake rotors don’t want to come off of the hubs. I’ve posted about this in the past. When the center, also called the hat, doesn’t want to come off of the hub, hitting the rotor with a hammer can cause the part the pads ride on crack and break off. The rotors on this particular car didn’t want to break free from the hub, so I had to use a different method, which led to a different type of cracking.
I was installing a trailer hitch on a used Honda Pilot, and as I knew from previous experience, the provided holes were rusty. A thread chaser wouldn’t thread in because of the rust so I had to use a tap, but taps aren’t easy to use in tight areas like where these holes are.
