A somewhat common problem on Hondas as they get older is an exhaust leak at the joint between the converter and tailpipe. This happens when the nuts and studs holding it together rust away and let it loosen.
This is all that’s left of the studs. The remains of the nuts are nowhere to be found. Fixing this problem is pretty simple, it just requires heating up the stud and flange with the torch and then using a hammer to knock the studs out. Once they’re out, the flanges can be tightened back together using regular nuts and bolts.
