As I’ve written about many times, a lot of people like to put accessories on their cars, whether they make sense or not. Sometimes those accessories have a practical use, but are installed on cars that aren’t used in a way that would necessitate those additions.
Grille guards are good for vehicles that go off-roading or drive through underbrush, protecting the front of the vehicle. While the Honda Pilot is an SUV, I don’t think many are used that way, but I have seen many with grille guards, and it seems like a lot of them are first generation Pilots. To prove my point, I was working on one, and when I was done and parked it outside, there was another first generation Pilot with a grille guard that I parked next to.
