As someone who loved his first car more than it deserved, I understand holding onto a car longer than I should. That being said, this is just a bit too far. This car should’ve gone to the junkyard years ago.
Maybe it’s mechanically sound, but the body is just gone. The right rear fender has been patched with a sheet of metal, and the gaps from all the rust filled in with expanding foam. The repair order said “do not lift”, so I don’t even want to know what the bottom of the car looks like.
The left side of the car was even worse looking than the right side. I wouldn’t be surprised if the expanding foam actually pushed the rusted metal out as it expanded, it’s in such bad shape. It looks like this quarter panel is 50% foam, 25% paint, and 25% metal at this point. Just get a newer car.
