If you need a place to store extra dog food for those long trips with your pet, try storing it in your HVAC system. Actually, no, that’s a bad idea, usually it’s rodents that try that.
The repair order said that the recirculate function didn’t work, and the service writer had tried to check the air filter himself but could only pull it out a little bit because of all the dog food in it.
I had to get a vacuum and suck out what I could as I slowly pulled the filter out. It took a few minutes, and then I had to remove what was still in there.
To get the rest of the dog food out I had to remove the blower motor, which is pretty easy on this car. Surprisingly there wasn’t any dog food stuck in the engine air filter box, only the HVAC intake.
