When working on cars there are a lot of things that are hot enough to burn you pretty well.

When fabricating the bracket for my accessory fuse box, I had the not-so-bright idea to push on the heated metal with my hand. As you can see, the tag on my Mechanix glove left a bit of itself behind on the metal. I also burned my hand, but thankfully it wasn’t worse.

I have a couple scars on my left arm from burns, one was the Vise-Grips I’d had clamped onto a sway bar link I was torching, and the other was from some exhaust pipes. Be careful what you touch.
