Mice In Cars Isn’t Good

I’ve had to deal with damage from animals under the hood of cars multiple times. A lot of times it’s just the remnants of a small nest something started building, sometimes it’s pieces of food or droppings, or even chewed wires. I haven’t seen many get inside cars, but that can be a big mess.

This is a car another tech was working on that was in the shop for a few days waiting for insurance to look at it, and as you can see, some sort of animal was inside the car and having a field day with the firewall insulation. I don’t know if any wiring harnesses got chewed on, but the dash had to be removed for a full inspection and to replace the insulation, so that’s not a cheap fix for this animal mischief.
