I recently bought a used Yard Machines snow blower and it needs new belts. Here’s how to replace them.
Start by removing the belt cover in front of the engine. There are two 3/8 bolts , one on each side.
Empty the gas tank or seal it with a plastic bag under the cap, and tilt the snow blower up onto the front end.
Remove the six 3/8 bolts holding the bottom cover.
The auger belt is on the bottom.
Roll the belt off the drive pulley.
Release the two springs.
Pull the belt up and off the driven pulley. Install the new belt in the reverse order.
To replace the drive belt, pull the tensioner pulley by hand to remove tension from the belt, and remove the belt from the drive pulley.
Loosen this bolt from the outside of the snow blower to allow the plate to move downwards.
Push down on the driven pulley and pull the belt between the pulley and the drive wheel. Install the new belt in the reverse order.
