There are a lot of frustrating things about working on cars, but I would say this is one of the worst. Waiting for parts to arrive can be bad enough, because unless you have work you can do while you wait, you’re stuck and maybe not making any money.
What’s worse is when those parts arrive, and you realize there’s a problem with the new part. Hopefully you notice before putting it in, which I did before installing this brake caliper. Somehow the bracket is bent. It must’ve been when it was being made cause there’s no way it could happen so perfectly. Because of this, I had to wait for the parts store to find and bring over another caliper for me to install, adding another 45 minutes to the repair time, and I couldn’t do anything during that time.
