It’s the beginning of winter, so there are a lot of cars getting snow tires. I was taking off the wheels of a car to do another set when one lug nut gave me trouble.

My impact wrench was barely able to get it off, because something happened to the threads halfway down.

I’m not sure what exactly happened, because the first threads are fine, which means it wasn’t cross-threaded.
