Doing work on your car yourself or having a friend do it can save you a lot of money. But you have to know what you’re doing, or things could go very wrong.

This car came into the shop with a completely incorrect set of front brake pads and hardware. When you turned the wheel the pads would move around and make clunking sounds. While they still worked, I would not trust this, because they’re not held in very well.
